Woman: Who art thou

God is not biased and his plan for the entire human race is not gender biased. Gods plan for the Human race was given before Eve was taken out of Adam.

¹⁵ And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

¹⁷ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

²⁰ And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:15, 17, 20 [KJV].

The command and the activity in Genesis 2:15, 17, 20 was given to them both and done by them both in Adam.

According to linguistic approach (Original Hebrew):

The word \”To dress\” in Hebrew is: עבד, âbad. It means husbandman. The male role is to work to make sure the home and his environment is patterned according to the pattern God shows him. He is a builder, the shepherd, the pastor, and so on.

The word \”to keep\” in Hebrew is: שׁמר, shâmar. It means to hedge about, preserve, regard, reserve etc., what has been dressed.

Along the line, man fell due to disobedience. The penalty of this disobedience is found in Gen 3 :16b (NLT version)

\”And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.\”

Genesis 3:16 [NLT].

This then began the sharp disparity, intimidation, social injustice, etc, between both sexes.

In attempt to shake this off, feminism was birthed. But, unknown to the female gender is the fact that, mankind cannot in his fallen state do anything to recall the process which has already began due to man\’s choice of disobeying a spiritual law. At best, all effort will create more problems leading to extremism and greater dissension as touching feminism.

What Then is Feminism?

Feminism is a range of ideologies, social and political movements, that aims to define and establish the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes.

Among the vast pool of what Feminism stands for, here\’s a few of them.

Feminism is:

1. The advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.
2. The theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. Feminism at its core is about equality of men and women, not sameness.
3. The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities.

Womanhood and God\’s Plan

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.

Ephesians 3:10 [KJV]

According to Ephesians 3:10, God\’s wisdom is multidimensional. All through scriptures we see the display of God\’s wisdom. One of such awesome display is the creation of man and the emergence of the woman from the man he created.

This woman functions as:

1. A system of support.
2. She is created to bring multiplication to territories, cities, ministries, families etc.
3. Basically she knows everything about her own and this reflects one of the dimension of God as The El-shaddia (The multi breasted one) which is also translated in English as The Almighty God. This also reminds us of her function as an help meet, and many more.

Every woman has a purpose which needs to be discovered. The Holy Scriptures is replete with women like Deborah, Rahab, Hannah, Mary, Rhoda, Esther, Elizabeth etc. From their lives, we see that:

1. Being a woman means being able to be powerful and assertive, yet kind at the same time.
2. It means being compassionate and vulnerable towards those we love without feeling weak for doing so.
3. It means striving for our goals even in the face of the adversity we may encounter along the way. A large part of this is achieved through a strong female support system that encourages us to be our best selves.

The Balance, Justice and Equity women promoting feminism seek can be attained when:

1. Mankind (Male / Female) finds, understand and play out their respective roles \”Guard and keep the garden (Family, environment, the world) without prejudice, as defender of the earth realm, in God through Christ.
2. Mankind, submits the knowledge and mindset gotten from the tree of good and evil to the wisdom of God.
3. Women understand that the answer is not feminism but, fulfilling purpose in Christ.
4. Mankind (Male / Female) in any strata of the society would not see themselves as rivals but synergize to achieve a common goal.

All these and many more can be achieved because, Jesus (The Last Adam) lived as Mankind (Male / Female) should. In Him, mankind for the first time could unite and fulfil Gods purpose on earth. This shows when we unite and function as one in purpose, we can live to our fullest potential.
